Abroad: On the way to The 44th Art Cologne

Timing is everything. A day later…Despite the airline catastrophe caused by Volcano Eyjafjallajokull in Iceland, 1301PE made it to Europe via London. Dinner at St John Bread and Wine with Paul Winstanley was the perfect meal after a long flight. Then the Eurostar to Brussels to see Ann Veronica Janssens and a visit to Pierre Marcolini (best chocolate). After two nights, Cologne to set up a fantastic booth at the 44th Art Cologne art fair.

On 12 April the Special Investigative Committee of the Parliament will release the report addressing the events and causes leading up to the banking crisis in Iceland. The staff of the Reykjavik City Theatre has decided to read the document out loud in its entirety. It is approx. 2000 pages long and will be read aloud by a troupe of 45 actors over 3-5 days. There will be a televised broadcast of the event and open admission for the whole nation.

Abroad: Brian in Austin, Texas

Los Angeles isn't the only place that has developed interesting places to eat. On South Congress Ave. in Austin, TX a series of stands have emerged. Not limited to South Congress - you can find them city wide.

A trip to Austin always included a trip to Central Market. The vast aisles of produce, meat and fish, wine and beer, cheese, it's bakery and then prepared foods causes one to feel a sense of both bliss and gluttony.
